Sales Controller/Head of Sales - Grocery Private Label

Location: Home Based, preferably South
To £100,000 + bonus + exec package

Already a runaway success story that has achieved way beyond the original expectations of the Family Founders in less than 10 years, our client is a privately owned £200m private label bakery business. Even more impressive, they have achieved almost £50m in revenue in the UK alone without a UK-dedicated sales resource! With ambition to grow and deliver a plan that can demonstrably continue expansion in the UK and Ireland, they now need an experienced, FMCG trained Grocery Sales expert who, without any doubt, will consider themselves a resident expert in private label food.

The French Board has now trained its sights on appointing an impressive Sales Controller to lead the UK commercial agenda. An outright Pioneer of winning the hearts and minds of the UK Grocery customer universe, who will unlock the huge potential knowingly available. So far, distribution is impressive, yet wider and deeper penetration is the priority; a well-thought-out activation strategy is key to success.

This role is all about stellar sales hunger and capability. Knowledge of the bakery category will be a distinct advantage. You will relish the very idea of running the UK subsidiary as if it were your own, finding new revenue sources in a role that requires a high degree of autonomy as the sole UK representative, yet with a complete back office in France to support your mission. A team will grow around you in time. Your attitude as a sales entrepreneur is expected; someone who thrives on building commercial success and can show their value instantly through structured and disciplined commercial FMCG know-how.

You will raise the commercial standards and set a creative strategy, perfectly designed using your wide knowledge and blue-chip training backed by your track record having done this before in large or SME businesses. Above all, you’ll have a passion for selling and a bias for action that makes a lasting impact.
