Managing Director - Pharmaceuticals

Our client is specialist pharmaceutical company and supply chain partner working in close partnership with the NHS, private hospitals and doctors throughout the UK. They deliver solutions for all phases of the product lifecycle, concerning controlled and unlicensed drug supply with a focus on low volume specialist products, including orphan drugs, ATMP and products needing close management and control.

Led by an impressive Board of Directors with plans to float the Holding Company on the UK FTSE in 2022, this organisation is in ‘the race to the top’ adding to its unique market proposition a highly topical new product concept for patients that is set to transform the world quite literally.

As Managing Director, you will be fully accountable with a high level of day-to-day autonomy to deliver the company’s annual turnover and profit targets. This will include championing the commercial relationships with pharmaceutical supplier partners in combination with the medical professional customer universe.

At the helm, you will continually identify emerging efficiencies that address the shifting, regulated category needs to ensure supply constantly meets demand and best practice. You will direct, promote and drive capacity enhancing projects based on forecasted growth. This will include validation of current processes, detailed analysis, and articulated capture of key risks/ops across the current portfolio to future-proof the business.

Core responsibilities require you to lead a team of 10, setting the overall strategy and executing the commercial plan for the UK and Irish subsidiary business.

You will direct and be a key member of the Executive Board, working closely with the Operations Director to deliver partner distribution targets and objectives. Key to success is the direction and implementation of stringent industry policies and procedures to ensure that the company complies with all health and safety and other statutory regulations.

Highly operational, the agility to deal with the ever-changing commercial landscape, as well as knowing your subject matter in either sales or supply chain like no other, you will be no stranger to making an impact and contribution at pace.

The role requires a strong and authoritative voice with colleagues in Supply Chain, Regulatory and Finance functions. You will be a key influence, providing critical input to management decision-making.

Results-driven, an experienced Sales or Supply Chain Professional who will stop at nothing to deliver success, you will understand the SME world, enjoy freedom to act in delivering commercial fundamentals. Your passion for excellence and entrepreneurial spirit will be as important as your expertise of classical General Management principles.
